Preservation efforts at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart
My current passion has become the preservation of old and historic homes and buildings. The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, is one very close to my own heart (no pun intended).
Built in 1906, the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart is the "Mother Church" of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond Virginia. After years of deterioration, the Cathedral is undergoing a massive preservation campaign. The Cathedral is a Virginia Historic Landmark and is listed on the the National Register of Historic Places. For those interested in the Centennial Preservation Campaign contact Kim Kremer at kkremer@richmondcathedral.org .
